When another Princes Court resident had a complaint about the food, rather than take it to the Resident's Committee, she took it to Mum's friend Tess - a fellow resident who just happens to be the CEO's mother.

Mum wrote Mulligatawny Soup in February 2012 as a bit of fun. Her nursing home always serves soup with meals - and while she made her own soups for years, mulligatawny never featured.

Mum's been writing 'pomes' for as long as we can remember - and even before. At 89 years young, she definitely hasn't lost her touch - so everyone please keep encouraging her.

Respite Care was written after Mum's first two week stay at Princes Court Homes. She realised it was actually a lot less threatening and intrusive than she originallyimagined, and wrote Respite Care to help dispel some of the myths associated with 'going into care' among her generation. Mum will continue to use respite care for two weeks at a time, twice a year, to 'recharge her batteries'.
